Utility background will only be considered (not oil & gas). Alta link Level 3 OR protection and control work leader designation for international candidates. Calgary based when not in the field so the candidate would need to live or be willing to re-locate to the Calgary area. Testing and commissioning electrical apparatus CTs, PTs in transmission substations (e.g., Experience of Omicron 356 or CPC 100 testing equipment) Work with various types of diagnostic equipment by various manufactures such as Megger, Doble, Manta, and Protection & Control commissioning Trouble shooting of electrical circuits, and providing support to other field staff in emergency situations Participate as required for issuing GOI clearances, electrical switching and clearance for isolation Site liaison for construction, safety and quality managers and project team Coordination of smaller projects independently of Supervisors and Project Managers Submit weekly reports as required for costs, time-sheets, schedules and inspections Supervise and direct company work crews and subcontractors Train apprentices to work safely and accurately to develop good working habits This is a permanent position.
